Vilāsa — The Belvedere

Location: Goa

Project Type: Maximalist Twin Villas

Designed exclusively for Vilāsa, The Belvedere twin villas represent the pinnacle of aspirational living. At Bottega Di Lusso, our interior vision for these residences was to curate a world that feels both deeply rooted in colonial grandeur and vibrantly contemporary.

This project is an exercise in opulent layering - where every surface tells a story of heritage, travel, and uncompromising craft.

The Design Canvas: Stone & Silk

The foundation of The Belvedere’s interior is a stunning white stone mosaic flooring. This delicate, textured ground provides a luminous, expansive base that allows the richer, darker design elements to pop.

We’ve treated the walls not as boundaries, but as curated galleries. High-relief decorative moldings and classical friezes run along the upper perimeters, framing the rooms with a sense of historical weight without the need for heavy structural intervention.

Interior Highlights & Stylistic Elements

The Maximalist Mix - True to our signature Indian-flavoured Maximalism, the living spaces feature a daring "clash" of patterns that achieve a perfect, eclectic harmony.

Upholstery - A soft floral-print sofa is paired with bold black-and-white ikat armchairs and a classic ticking-stripe chaise.

Accents - Burnt orange velvet cushions and silk-upholstered dining seats inject a warm, spice-toned energy into the neutral shell.

The Chinoiserie Statement - A vibrant red Chinoiserie-style display cabinet serves as the room’s visual anchor - a nod to the global trade influences often found in grand colonial Indian homes.

Curated Niches - We transformed standard wall recesses into bespoke shelving units. Backed with delicate floral wallpaper and illuminated with soft integrated lighting, these niches house a curated collection of artisanal pottery, literature, and travel curios.

Regency Silhouettes - The dining area features high-back cane chairs - a quintessential colonial element - reimagined with modern, saturated upholstery. These surround a heavy, dark-toned wood dining table designed for grand-scale entertaining.

The Lighting Narrative - The jewellery of the home consists of majestic multi-arm brass chandeliers dripping with amber-toned crystal. These are complemented by tiered glass pendants that cast a soft, rhythmic glow across the open-plan spaces.

At The Belvedere, we didn't just decorate; we composed. It’s a space where the geometry of a stone floor meets the fluid history of a Chinoiserie cabinet, creating a home that feels like a lived-in legacy.
